As Seen on TV

Fans of the Hallmark Channel and Gilmore Girls will adore this delightful rom‑com about a city girl who goes in search of small-town happiness, only to discover life—and love—are nothing like the TV movies.

Emerging journalist Adina Gellar is done with dating in New York City. If she’s learned anything from made-for-TV romance movies, it’s that she’ll find love in a small town—the kind with harvest festivals, delightful but quirky characters, and scores of delectable single dudes. So when a big-city real estate magnate targets tiny Pleasant Hollow for development, Adi knows she’s found the perfect story—one that will earn her a position at a coveted online magazine, so she can finally start adulting for real . . . and maybe even find her dream man in the process.

Only Pleasant Hollow isn’t exactly “pleasant.” There’s no charming bakery, no quaint seasonal festivals, and the residents are more ambivalent than welcoming. The only upside is Finn Adams, who’s more mouthwatering than the homemade cherry pie Adi can’t seem to find—even if he does work for the company she’d hoped to bring down. Suddenly Adi has to wonder if maybe TV got it all wrong after all. But will following her heart mean losing her chance to break into the big time?

I have a secret. I might have a slight obsession with Hallmark movies. By slight obsession, I mean I might have a collection of coats that I might of saw while watching these movies, and I might have spent hours upon hours scouring the internet to find these coats so I may live out my Jewish dream of being in a Hallmark Christmas movie. And by slight obsession, I mean I own 44 coats and have a matching one with my best friend. So, when I heard there was a JEWISH-themed Hallmark-inspired rom-com coming out, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Adina Gellar is trying her best to adult juggling her life in New York. She’s been through the ringer dating, including dating the same pool as people as her mother, so when the opportunity arises for the potential story that would secure her a career arise in a small town, she jumps at the it. If she has learned anything from hallmark movies it is that is where you will find love. What could go wrong? Not a town that is the complete opposite. Throw in the mouthwatering playboy Finn Adams, and you have some SPICY cherry pie kind of Sunday. As Seen on Tv tells the story that maybe what you expect isn’t always what you will get, and sometimes you don’t have to leave to find the things you are looking for. PLUS, JEWISH REPRESENTATION. All of that plus more makes this my newest favorite book. This means there is a brand new 60-song playlist. Sorry but not. This book is like a warm hug on a winter night or a cold beer on a summer night; the playlist reflects that. So, break one open, play the songs, and pre-order this book. Out next Tuesday.

I’m so excited to announce that I and @chicklitistheshit will be hosting a buddy read & Author Event for As Seen on TV. We will be reading and chatting about the book on Instagram, and then on Thursday, June 16, 6pmEST, 5pmCST, 3pmPST, we will be live on zoom speaking with Meredith Schorr herself. Join us, meet fellow readers, and chat with the author live. Links are below or above! Hope to see you there.
